Key-note speech about recent trends in E-Commerce in China - 11 May 2016

On the 11th of May 2016 Bart Horsten gave a key-note speech about the recent trends in E-commerce in China at the BCECC seminar in Brussels. Topics covered were e-commerce market statistics, m-commerce, mobile payments, O2O services, cross-border e-commerce platforms and strategic considerations for SME's. At the end of the presentation Bart also introduced some case studies of recent E-commerce and online marketing projects of Horsten International.

Afterwards an interactive panel discussion and Q&A session was held, moderated by Bart, with several experts in E-commerce, online marketing and e-logistics:

In 2016 China's Cross-border E-commerce is expected to exceed $1 trillion, of which the key drivers are e-commerce platforms, social media platforms, digital payments platforms and mobile devices. These recent developments offer a lot of opportunities for Western brands and products, also for SME's, but at the same time a lot of challenges and hurdles need to be taken into account.

The session, at which 52 participants attended, was concluded by a networking reception.
