Trade Mission to China from 28 May to 4 June 2016
From May 28th to June 4th 2016 the Voka (Chamber of Commerce) of East-Flanders, the province of East-Flanders and Flanders Investment and Trade organised a trade mission to China, headed by governor Jan Bries. As a preparation for the trip, on Tuesday May 10th Bart Horsten, managing director of Horsten International, gave a lecture about doing business in China to all the participants to the trade mission.
The delegation visited Beijing, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang (Hebei) and Shanghai. The province of East Flanders already has a friendship agreement with the Chinese province of Hebei since more than 25 years. This strong link can help Belgian companies to build stronger relationships with their Chinese counterparts. During the trade mission the companies had B2B-meetings, company tours in the high-tech, food, automotive, metal and agricultural sector, as well as visits to harbours and industrial zones and meetings with Chinese officials and networking events.
On Tuesday the 31st of May the delegation was welcomed at the Belgian Embassy in Beijing. Ambassador Malherbe praised the good relationships of the Province of East Flanders with China and wished the participants all the best for their China business.
