Food Export Forum - 14 October 2020

Bart Horsten participated as China expert at the first edition of the Food Export Forum on 14 October, organized by the Belgian Food Federation Fevia, in collaboration with Flanders Investment and Trade (FIT) and Green Seed. The event focused on the use of e-commerce in food sales and you also got advice on sales & marketing, marketing opportunities and interesting trends during and after corona. Inspiring speakers on E-commerce in China and the UK have inspired the participants during a panel discussion.

China is the world's largest online market and the importance of e-commerce continues to grow rapidly. Alibaba is the 'Gateway to China' as today more than 100.000 brands, also European food and drinks, already reach 654 million consumers through Alibaba platforms including Tmall, the largest B2C platform in China. 

During the event the particpants had the chance to discuss with different experts whether your products are suitable for Alibaba's online platforms and they also discovered how you can sell your product on the e-commerce platforms and more specific on Alibaba's cross-border platform Tmall Global. Many food & beverage companies have great ambitions in China, but do not know how to deal with this complicated market and what to do first.
